Leadership The Power of Emotional Intelligence eBook Daniel Goleman
This book was a required text for my Leadership class. I am so glad to have read it. It really gives a clear yet very detailed explanation of what emotional intelligence is, why leaders need to understand what it is and how to harness their own EI, and describes the various different types of leadership styles; when to use which ones and which should somewhat be avoided. It also helped to define what kind of leader I am and want to be. This book was over all VERY useful and easy to comprehend. Beware of the last 3-4 chapters though, they are a little tougher because they delve slightly deeper into Neuroscience and psychology. But fascinating stuff!Product details

Leadership The Power of Emotional Intelligence eBook Daniel Goleman Reviews
An excellent text. Daniel Goleman is brilliant. I used this for an assignment and was impressed. It was an easy read with very helpful insight into emotional intelligence, especially for someone who was coming across this topic for the first time. I would definitely recommend this.
A short and concise book with good information for both leading yourself and others. Individual aspects such as self-awareness and self-management are covered, and as we know you have to first be able to lead yourself before you can hope to lead others. The book also looks at the effectiveness of various leadership styles, such as democratic vs authoritative styles, in specific situations and generally. If you are in anyway interested in leadership this is a good book to have in your library.
This book is so detailed, and so well-written! I have quoted from it for my psychology courses as well as graduate leadership courses! I expected it to be dry, but it's very palatable!
Easy read packed with information.
Best part of the book is how do we manage ourselves in tough situations when EQ matters the most.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is getting started with people leader positions in the corporate world.
Challenges are many and the EQ is not a subject taught in school. We need to learn from other's experiences and this book does help you gain this knowledge.
Goleman has done it again and this may be his finest work. It's distiller to the really important features of EI and this book is a collection of his best articles. I would recommend this book to those who want to increase their EI or if your studying this great subject as a leader or student.
Goleman, in this book takes the principles of emotional intelligence and applies them to leadership. His book makes it clear that leaders of all stripes can't afford to ignore these soft skills. Leaders have to connect emotionally with those they lead. Otherwise, they fail to create the kinds of places where people feel supported and valued, which means a great deal in productive workplaces. As a school principal, I see much here that can make me an even better educational leader.
